Unpack it and run it

There is no installer in the zip. Unpack the folder wherever you like and double click FlickFrag.exe inside it. If you want the game gone, delete that folder.

One thing matters: do not open the zip and run the exe from inside it. Unpack the zip first, then run the exe in the folder that comes out. Otherwise the game cannot find the files that have to sit next to it.

Windows warns you the first time

The game is not signed yet. So Windows shows a blue box that says "Windows protected your PC" and tells you it does not know who made it. That is not a virus warning. Windows says it about every program whose author has not paid for a signature.

If you still want to open it, click More info and then Run anyway. If you would rather not, that is fair enough. You can compare the SHA-256 number above with your file, or simply wait. Once the signature is bought this note goes away.

Some antivirus programs are also suspicious of new, unsigned files. There is nothing hidden in the zip: it is a plain folder full of files, that is all.

Checking that your download is intact

Compare the SHA-256 number above with your own file. Open PowerShell and type this:

Get-FileHash .\the-file-you-downloaded.zip -Algorithm SHA256

If the long number that comes out matches the one above, the file arrived intact.

If something goes wrong

The game writes nothing into the folder you unpacked. The few files it keeps are here:

%LOCALAPPDATA%\FlickFrag

Paste that into the address bar in File Explorer and the folder opens. Inside there is log.txt, which says what happened the last time you played. Your settings sit in settings.json. If the game crashed there is also a file whose name starts with crash.

If the game crashes, or opens and closes again straight away, the fix is easy: drag the newest crash file into Discord. Say what you were doing and what graphics card you have. That is usually enough. If the game will not open at all, send log.txt too.
